Menopause is not the end; it's a new beginning....

We have dedicated and qualified GP’s focussing in this area of menopause. Below is all the information you need to be confident to make your booking with us.

What makes you eligible?

Typically, menopause happens between the ages of 45 and 55, but it can occur earlier or later. The process is defined by the absence of menstrual periods for 12 consecutive months. Leading up to this, women experience a phase called perimenopause, where menstrual cycles become irregular, and they may experience symptoms like:

  • Hot flashes

  • Night sweats

  • Mood swings

  • Vaginal dryness

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Changes in libido

These symptoms can vary in intensity and duration, and in some cases, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is used to manage them.

What are the costs of the consultations?

Each consultation with our doctors is 30 minutes and is $249 for initial and $199 for follow up.

What is the process?

Initial Consultation

Our doctors will take an in-depth history, assessing your risk factors, they will help you understand what could be going on to explain your symptoms. They will aim to provide a holistic approach looking outside menopause as well. The doctor may order a blood test for you to get a better understanding of your hormone health.

Follow Up Consultation

On follow up, you will have your blood test reviewed and explained. We'll discuss the underlying cause, and if a diagnosis of menopause is confirmed, our doctors will then raise discussions around HRT. Sometimes the cause may not be menopause, and this is okay; our doctors are here to provide alternative therapies for your concerns.

Your follow up consult will focus on how to use HRT, the expectations, and how to manage any possible risks to help you guide safely through this journey.

Regarding future follow-ups, your doctor will expect either a follow up 3 monthly or 6 monthly to ensure that the medications are working well and that you are not having any side effects. They will help get you the best dose that is right for you.

Repeat Prescriptions

Prescriptions last for around 3 months. There are issues around patch shortages nationwide, and our doctor can help you covert to creams if needed. You can request repeat medication during your follow up or for $35 on our website, and we will send it to your nearest pharmacy.

Is there any cost with the prescription?

The cost for the medicine is around $10-$15 from the pharmacy.
